Wide rice noodles tossed in a smokey, savoury umami sauce with sizzling beef, onion, tender zucchini and snappy green beans. It's got that high-heat, restaurant-style char you just can't fake — the kind of noodle dish that disappears before you even sit down.

Produced in a facility that processes eggs, milk, fish, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

Cooking Steps

Cook the noodles
1
  • Boil the kettle. Half-fill a medium saucepan with boiling water.
  • Cook rice noodles over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally with a fork to separate, until tender, 4-6 minutes.
  • Drain, rinse and drizzle with olive oil.
Get prepped
2
  • Meanwhile, thinly slice zucchini into half-moons. Trim and roughly chop green beans. Slice brown onion into thin wedges. Finely chop garlic.
  • In a large bowl, combine beef strips, Asian BBQ seasoning and a drizzle of olive oil.
  • In a small bowl, combine oyster sauce, soy sauce mix, the brown sugar and water.
Cook the beef
3
  • To bowl with beef, add cornflour, tossing to coat.
  • In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over high heat.
  • When oil is hot, shake off excess flour and cook beef strips, tossing, in batches until browned and cooked through, 1-2 minutes. Transfer to a plate.

TIP: Cooking the meat in batches over a high heat helps it stay tender.

Cook the veggies
4
  • Wipe out frying pan and return to high heat with a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Cook zucchini, green beans and brown onion until tender, 4-5 minutes.
  • Add garlic and cook until fragrant, 1 minute.
Bring it all together
5
  • Return beef to pan then add rice noodles and soy sauce mixture, tossing to combine, 1 minute. Season with pepper.
Finish & serve
6
  • Divide sizzling beef and vegetable chow fun between bowls.
  • Sprinkle over some chilli flakes (if using) to serve. Enjoy!

  • Suggestions: One reviewer felt the dish needed an extra element such as chilli or mushrooms to boost the overall flavour. Another noted that pea pods were used in place of green beans, and found the swap made little difference to the final result.
