Our Meal Kits: Sustainable by Nature
By sourcing many of our ingredients directly from Aussie suppliers and delivering the produce to you without any detours, we remove steps from the traditional supply chain. This shorter supply chain means we avoid packaging and repackaging along the way. Plus, we use pre-portioned ingredients for our recipes, which means you also avoid food waste. As a result, your HelloFresh meals create 15% fewer carbon emissions than the same meals made from supermarket ingredients. Learn more about our Life Cycle Assessment Study.

Our Sustainability Efforts
HelloFresh takes sustainability seriously. In 2022, we committed to set science-based emissions reduction targets. These targets are in line with the Paris Climate Agreement's goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. To learn more, take a look at our 2022 Non-Financial Report and see our latest sustainability achievements and how we measure their impact.

National Partnership with Foodbank
We're proud of our national partnership with Australia's leading food and grocery relief organisation, Foodbank Australia. Supporting the community is important to us, which is why we’re proud to work with Foodbank to ensure that our quality food surplus at our warehouse is donated to those who need it most.
In 2022, our donations were equivalent to 1.2 million meals which helped support families and individuals across Australia. These donations have made us one of Foodbank’s top ten volume national donors.
Supporting OzHarvest and SecondBite
In 2022, we donated $18,556 to OzHarvest through our 'Donate Your Box' feature, allowing them to deliver 37,000 meals to people in need across Australia. We also donated the equivalent to 539,390 meals of surplus food to SecondBite in Victoria to support those in need.
