Dare you take a bite? These beef burgers are monstrously good, so we can't see why you wouldn't. Juicy beef stacked high and slathered in a wickedly oozy chilli jam that'll haunt your taste buds long after the last bite. On the side, a heap of golden fries and two olive eyes staring back at you from the plate. This Halloween, we've cooked up something truly diabolical - a burger so frighteningly delicious, it'd wake the dead. Eat it... before it eats you.

Produced in a facility that processes eggs, milk, fish, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

Cooking Steps

Bake the fries
1
  • Preheat oven to 240°C/220°C fan-forced. Cut potato into fries.
  • Place on a lined oven tray. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and toss to coat.
  • Bake until tender, 20-25 minutes.

TIP: If your oven tray is crowded, divide between two trays.

Get prepped
2
  • Meanwhile, using a vegetable peeler, peel cucumber into ribbons (stopping when you reach the seeds in the centre).
  • In a medium bowl, combine beef mince, Aussie spice blend, fine breadcrumbs, the egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Using damp hands, shape beef mixture into 2cm-thick patties (1 per person).

Little cooks: Roll up your sleeves and help shape the
patties. Remember to wash your hands well afterwards!

Cook the bacon & beef patties
3
  • In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook bacon, turning, until golden, 4-5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Wipe out frying pan and return to medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil
  • Cook beef patties until just cooked through, 4-5 minutes each side (cook in batches if your pan is getting crowded).
Bake the buns
4

• While the patties are cooking, halve bake-at-home
burger buns and bake directly on a wire oven rack
until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

Dress the leaves
5
  • In a second medium bowl, combine mixed salad leaves, a drizzle of olive oil and vinegar. Season to taste.
Finish & serve
6
  • Spread each burger bun with chilli jam.
  • Top with a beef patty and bacon. Lay the reserved cucumber ribbon over the top of the patty so it hangs over the edge to resemble a 'tongue', then top with salad leaves.
  • Skewer two Kalamata olives per burger onto toothpicks to create “eyes,” then insert them into the top of each burger bun. Remove the toothpicks before eating. Serve with fries. Enjoy!
