Cooking Steps

Get prepped
1
  • Roughly shred baby cos lettuce. Thinly slice tomato into rounds.
  • Cut haloumi into 1cm-thick slices.
  • In a medium bowl, combine haloumi, peri-peri seasoning and a drizzle of olive oil
Cook the haloumi
2
  • In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook haloumi until golden brown, 1-2 minutes each side.
Heat the buns
3
  • When corn has 5 minutes remaining, place bake-at-home burger buns on a plate and microwave in 10 second bursts for 1 minute.
  • Wash out frying pan. Halve buns and toast, cut-side down, in the frying pan over medium-high heat until golden, 3-4 minutes.

TIP: If you don't have a microwave, you can bake the buns straight on the wire rack at 180°C/160°C fan-forced for 3 minutes, or until heated through.

Finish & serve
4
  • Spread burger bun bases with garlic aioli and peri peri sauce. Top with some cos lettuce, tomato and haloumi.
  • Serve with corn chips. Enjoy!
