• Meanwhile, slice bake-at-home ciabatta in half lengthways. • Toast or grill ciabatta to your liking. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper, then tear into bite-sized chunks. • In a large bowl, combine mixed salad leaves, cucumber and 1/2 the caesar dressing. Season.

Review summary

Updated on Feb 2026
  • Flavour: Many enjoyed this twist on Caesar salad, though some missed traditional elements like anchovies and egg.
  • Ease of prep: Quick and simple to make, though a few found the multiple steps time-consuming.
  • Suggestions: Consider adding boiled eggs, using larger bacon pieces, and offering optional anchovies for a more classic Caesar taste.
  • Portions: Generous servings; many found it enough for 3-4 people or had leftovers for lunch.
  • Croutons: Some loved the garlic ciabatta croutons, while others found them too large or preferred them crispier.
