Mint Recipe FAQs
How to make mint sauce?
To make mint sauce, take fresh mint leaves that have been removed from their stalk and chop them finely. Next, place them into a small pan of boiling water for a couple of minutes before straining them in a sieve. Mix together sugar and malt vinegar until the sugar dissolves. Add some mint to the mixture and taste. Continue adding mint until you get the flavour you’re after.
What can I do with my fresh mint?
Fresh mint can be used in numerous recipes, so look one up if you have this herb to spare. You can also leave it out to dry in the sun before chopping it and putting it in a jar to preserve it for later use. Mint leaves can also be frozen. Put them in a sealable freezer bag before doing so.
How to prepare fresh mint?
Fresh mint should be chopped for nearly all uses. Pick the leaves away from the stems since you’ll only want these. Place the leaves on top of one another and roll them up. You can then chop them all in one go very neatly, a technique which also saves time.
