How to Make a Traditional Mexican Guacamole Recipe
Guacamole has been a common ingredient in Mexican cuisine dating back to the Aztecs. Originally made from mashed avocados, over time, additional spices and ingredients have been added to give this traditional avocado dip its distinct flavour.
Any traditional guacamole recipe is easy to make using some basic ingredients, which should always include a ripe avocado for maximum flavour. You can check if the avocado is ripe by gently pressing against the avocado skin. If it feels too hard, it won’t be suitable for your guacamole recipe.
Cut the avocado in half with a sharp knife, and then scoop the contents into a small bowl, discarding the stone. Mash the avocado flesh in the bowl with a fork, mixing in salt, pepper and chopped coriander as you go. You can also add diced tomatoes, jalapenos, garlic, onion, chilli, and lime juice for extra flavour.
