What’s better than a beef burger? A beef and bacon burger! That’s right, it’s got bacon to really turn the flavour factor up. Once you dig into this winning combo, you’ll never go back to your standard beef burger recipe again. We’ve replaced the potato in this recipe with sweet potato due to local ingredient availability. Cooking Steps

Bake the fries
1

• Preheat the oven to 240°C/220°C fan-forced. Cut potato into fries. • Place fries on a lined oven tray, drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. • Toss to coat, then bake until tender, 20-25 minutes.

Make the patties
2

• While the fries are baking, combine pork mince, Aussie spice blend, the egg and fine breadcrumbs in a medium bowl. • Using damp hands, form mince mixture into 2cm thick patties slightly larger than your buns (1 patty per person).

Cook the bacon
3

• In a large frying pan, heat a small drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. • Add diced bacon and cook, breaking up with a spoon, until golden, 4-6 minutes. • Add the brown sugar and water and cook until caramelised, 30 seconds. Transfer to a plate lined with baking paper.

Cook the patties
4

• When the fries have 10 minutes remaining, wipe out the pan and return to medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil, if needed. • Cook the patties until cooked through, 4-5 minutes each side.

Heat the buns
5

• While the burgers are cooking, halve bake-at-home burger buns and bake directly on a wire oven rack until heated through, 2-3 minutes. • Meanwhile, thinly slice tomato.

Finish & serve
6

• Spread the burger bun bases with some of the mayonnaise. • Top with some mixed salad leaves, the pork patties, tomato and bacon. • Serve with fries and any remaining mayonnaise. Enjoy!
