Cooking Steps

Cook the Chicken
1
  • Place your hand flat on top of chicken breast and slice through horizontally to make two thin steaks.

  • In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.

  • Cook chicken steaks until cooked through, 3-6 minutes each side (cook in batches if your pan is getting crowded).

  • Remove pan from heat, add char siu paste (see ingredients) and a splash of water, turning chicken to coat. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.

TIP: The chicken is cooked when it is no longer pink inside.

Get prepped & cook the noodles
2
  • Boil the kettle.
  • Thinly slice capsicum and spring onion.
  • Half-fill a medium saucepan with boiling water.
  • Cook egg noodles over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally with a fork to separate, until tender, 4-5 minutes.
  • Drain, rinse and set aside.
Cook the stir-fry
3
  • Wipe out frying pan and return to medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil. Cook trimmed green beans and capsicum, tossing until tender, 5-6 minutes.
  • Add oyster sauce, the sesame oil, vinegar, cooked noodles and a splash of water, tossing to coat, 1 minute. Season with pepper.
Finish & serve
4
  • Slice chicken.
  • Divide noodle stir-fry between bowls. Top with sticky char siu chicken.
  • Sprinkle with mixed sesame seeds and garnish with spring onion to serve. Enjoy!
