Cooking Steps

Get prepped & caramelise the onion
1
  • Preheat oven to 220°C/200°C fan-forced.
  • Thinly slice capsicum and brown onion.
  • In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook onion, stirring regularly until softened, 5-6 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Add the balsamic vinegar, water and brown sugar and mix well. Cook until dark and sticky, 3-5 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl.
Make the sauce
2
  • Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook tomato paste, stirring, until fragrant, 1 minute. Stir in the water, then simmer until slightly thickened, 1 minute.
Cook the pork
3
  • Wipe out large frying pan and return to medium-high heat.
  • Cook pork mince, capsicum and All American spice blend (no need for oil!), breaking up with a spoon, until just browned, 4-5 minutes.
Assemble the pizzas
4
  • Lay flatbreads on a flat surface.
  • Spread tomato paste mixture evenly across flatbreads using the back of a spoon.
  • Top with pork, capsicum, caramelised onion and pickled jalapeños (if using). Sprinkle over Cheddar cheese.
Cook the pizzas
5
  • Transfer flatbread pizzas to oven wire racks. Bake until cheese is melted and golden, 10-12 minutes. Season.

TIP: Baking the pizza directly on the wire rack helps the base to crisp up.

TIP: Place an oven tray underneath the wire rack to catch any drips!

Finish & serve
6
  • Divide Philly-style pork cheese flatbread pizzas between plates. Tear over parsley to serve. Enjoy!
