Ingredients:

  • Canned tuna
  • Dried pasta
  • Milk
  • Unsalted butter
  • Flour
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Garlic & herb seasoning
  • Vegetables
  • Stock
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Thickened cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Lemon juice

Making the Sauce

Add the butter, milk and flour to your saucepan and mix together. Next, add salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese and the seasoning to the mix. Stir the mixture together on low heat until it becomes a thick, doughy paste.

Add stock, thickened cream, vegetables and tuna to the sauce, as well as a tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir until the creamy sauce reaches the boil, then add shredded cheese, salt and pepper to taste.

While making the sauce, preheat your oven to 240°C (220°C fan-assisted). Add your pasta to a saucepan of salted water. Fusili, penne and macaroni are the best types of pasta for this recipe.

Boil the pasta for around 12 minutes until it is al dente, then drain the water.

Baking the Recipe:

Once your pasta and sauce are ready, add them both to an oven-safe baking dish. Mix the tuna, sauce and pasta together and sprinkle breadcrumbs and additional Parmesan cheese on top.

Bake for around 12 minutes until golden brown, then serve.
