Cooking Steps

• Thinly slice capsicum. Thinly slice zucchini into half-moons. Thinly slice long chilli (if using). Finely chop garlic. Drain and rinse konjac noodles. • In a small bowl, combine sweet black bean sauce, the soy sauce and a splash of water.

• In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.• Cook capsicum and zucchini, tossing, until tender, 4-5 minutes. • Add garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant, 1 minute. Transfer to a bowl.

• Return frying pan to high heat with a drizzle of olive oil. Cook beef mince, breaking up with a spoon, until just browned, 3-4 minutes. • Add Asian BBQ seasoning and cook until fragrant, 1 minute. • Return veggies to the pan, add konjac noodles, baby spinach leaves and sweet black bean sauce mixture and cook, tossing, until combined, 1 minute. Season with pepper.

TIP: For best results, drain the oil from the pan before cooking the spice blend.

Review summary

Updated on Feb 2026
  • Flavour: Many enjoyed the vibrant Asian flavours, though some found it bland. Adding extra seasoning or garlic could boost the taste.
  • Ease of prep: Customers praised the simple, quick one-pan cooking process with minimal dishes required.
  • Suggestions: Several suggested using beef strips instead of mince. Adding more vegetables or swapping to egg noodles improved the dish for some.
  • Leftovers: A few mentioned it tasted great as leftovers for lunch the next day.
  • Texture: Many disliked the konjac noodles' texture, finding them thin and rubbery. Traditional egg or hokkien noodles were preferred.
