We’ve taken the best parts of the American Southern BBQ experience – creamy sauce, plus aromatic herbs and spices – and added a juicy beef patty and hand cut sweet potato fries for a burger y’all will love!
The recent flooding on the East Coast of Australia has impacted our regular supply of fresh ingredients and as such, what you receive may be slightly different to what’s pictured. Don’t worry, your recipe will be just as delicious!

Preheat oven to 240°C/220°C fan-forced. Cut potato into fries. Place on a lined oven tray. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and toss to coat. Spread out in a single layer. Bake until tender, 20-25 minutes.
TIP: If your oven tray is crowded, divide the fries between two trays.
Meanwhile, combine beef mince, the egg, fine breadcrumbs, Nan's special seasoning and the salt in a medium bowl. Shape the mixture into patties (one per person) slightly larger than the burger buns.
TIP: Make a shallow indentation in the centre of each patty to help prevent it puffing up as it cooks.
In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties, turning, until browned and cooked through, 4-5 minutes each side (cook in batches if your pan is getting crowded). Reduce heat to medium. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the patties, then cover pan with a lid or foil until the cheese is melted, 2-3 minutes.
While the patties are cooking, thinly slice the tomato.
Place bake-at-home burger buns directly on an oven wire rack. Bake until heated through, 3 minutes.
Cut burger buns in half. Spread each bun base with burger sauce. Top with tomato slices, a cheesy spiced pork patty and some mixed leaves. Serve with fries.
