Senior Machine Learning Ops Engineer (f/m/x)

Our data scientists work alongside data engineers and analysts in cross-functional teams to build and maintain best-in-class data products to improve HelloFresh’s user experience and business effectiveness. They are focused on designing scalable and automated data products using a variety of big data tools and platforms.

The role

At HelloFresh, we understand that data is our product, and we care about its quality. To that end, we are planning a major upgrade to our existing data science platform. Our next version will be global, highly automated, adhere to best MLOps practices, and consist of the tools, infrastructure, and processes best suited to lift our data science operations to the next level. We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our newly formed MLOps team. This role will enable you to help shape our data science platform and work closely with our data scientists on platform-related topics from data ingestion to publishing model results.

What you'll do

• Own and maintain our data science platform operations
• Continuously improve our data science pipelines end-to-end (data ingestion, feature engineering, experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and serving data) with a focus on high automation and efficient CI/CD operations
• Work closely with our data scientists to continuously optimise their workflow
• Get hands-on action right at the center of one of our data machine rooms

What you'll bring

• A proactive, solution-oriented and autonomous attitude to collaborate well in our cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence, etc.)
• Ability to learn quickly about HF's core product and architecture, and to act as an ambassador for state of the art software solutions and industry best practices offering support and mentorship to colleagues
• Excellent educational background; a plus if holding an advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar quantitative field
• Experience building and maintaining data science platforms; experience with tools such as Airflow, MLFlow, Spark, or Kafka
• Relevant commercial experience in building machine learning models and deploying them in production
• Extensive commercial experience working with Python and proficiency with open source libraries. Experience with Apache Spark is also preferred
• Experience with Amazon AWS, MLOps, and Automation for CI/CD
• The ability to design, implement and deliver maintainable and high-quality code. Skilled in software development best practices (git/github, secrets encryption,  yaml/json configurations etc.)
• Knowledge of visualization tools (Tableau, Grafana)
